Maine Moose Hunting
Hunting for your trophy moose with Spruce Mountain Lodge will be an experience you will never forget. Maine's moose herd is estimated at 30,000. Nationwide, Maine ranks second only to Alaska in moose population. If you're a winner in the Maine moose lottery, be prepared for the experience hunting of a lifetime. Each year, the state of Maine issues a number of moose permits through a lottery drawing. Application for moose permits must be made to the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife. The deadline for moose permit applications is April 1st. The 2007 split-season for moose hunting will be September 24 through September 29, 2007 (Wildlife Management Districts 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 11, and 19) or October 8 through October 13, 2007 (Wildlife Management Districts 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 17, 18, 19, 27, and 28).
